About Our Team

Blue Horizon Construction was founded in the Lowcountry in 2018. We are proud to serve Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Myrtle Beach with our commercial and residential construction services. Our mission is to provide quality construction on schedule and at a value. We want our customers to be as proud of our work as we are. We started this company because our values for quality, integrity and trust could only be accomplished on our terms. Our co-owners, Chris Cochran and Rusty Holt, work daily to apply our values to homes and businesses.

Our Founders

Chris Cochran

Chris is a dedicated project manager with over 25 years of experience working in design, development, construction and renovation. He hosts a variety of experience leading projects at health care facilities and medical office buildings. Chris also possesses extensive knowledge of building residential properties, including multi-family developments. He is familiar with building projects that vary in scale and complexity. Chris has been a resident of Mount Pleasant since 1985. In his spare time, he is a cyclist who rides up to 100 miles each week.

Rusty Holt

Rusty has over 25 years of experience in commercial and residential construction management. He grew up in the construction industry building custom homes with his family’s company in Maryville, Tennessee. After graduating college, Rusty started his own company building custom homes in Kentucky. In 2003, he decided to become a production home builder, building 70+ homes a year. He and his wife decided that a life at the beach building multi-family housing was the perfect opportunity in 2006.

In 2008, Rusty was recruited by Lend Lease, one of the largest commercial builders in the U.S. Over the next nine years, Rusty worked for Lend Lease, building multi-family communities and traveling the country building hotels. Rusty decided in 2017 that it was time to move back home to South Carolina. Since relocating, his completed projects have included new construction of homes and businesses. In his spare time, he and his wife raise Arabian horses on their property in Georgetown.
